What?

Learn, hack, fix, and explore cyber security.

DSU Cyber Stars is a Cyber Security camp designed for high school students entering grades 10 through 12. Students will participate in hands-on educational sessions with DSU professors and current students.

The camp's main purpose is to educate and excite groups of students that may not have considered studying and working in cyber security.

Students do not need any prior background or experience in security or computers to attend.

When?

July 20-25, 2014 on the DSU campus in Madison, SD. Registration will open 3-5PM on July 20th and we will be done by 2PM on July 25th! Plan on arriving July 20 and departing July 25.

If you're flying in for the camp, Sioux Falls, SD (FSD) is the closest airport. It's about 45 miles away. Let us know your flight plans, and we'll help arrange ground transportation to and from campus!

You will be in the DSU dorms Sunday - Thursday night with current DSU students acting as camp counselors. Parking is free on campus, but we will be keeping everybody's car keys during the week. No worries -- you'll be plenty busy with camp anyway!

Cost?

FREE! Yes, we said free! Just get registered so we can plan on your participation in the camp!

Dakota State was recently awarded a $100,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop and host a cyber security camp. The grant will allow DSU to host around 100 students on-campus for the camp at no cost to the student.

We're also going to load you up with some epic gear from the camp! Bags, shirts, books, hacker toys, and all sorts of other goodies will be yours to keep from the week.
